Frequently Asked Questions

Do you allow pets in your family and couples photo shoot?

Pets are more than welcome. My two dogs and cat are for sure a part of my family. We want to get the whole family into the photos. Be sure and let me know if that furry friend will be joining you in our survey. We might need an extra few minutes for the shoot, but it's well worth it to include the WHOLE family!

Frequently Asked Questions

This is my first photo shoot, what should I know?

The most important thing to know is that you don’t need to have it all figured out. That’s my job! I’ll guide you through the whole process, from helping with outfits and poses to creating an atmosphere where you and your family can just relax and be yourselves. It’s completely normal to feel unsure at first, but most families quickly realize how fun the session feels once we get started. My goal is to capture the real moments. All the laughter, the connection, and the love you share so that you walk away not only with beautiful photos, but also with a memorable experience together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I or should I wear my glasses during my photo shoot?

This dilemma is a very common. A lot of people don't feel like themselves if they are not wearing glasses but they can create reflection that blocks the eyes. I will always give you the choice but I usually recommend you take the glasses off. If you want them on that is great, we will have to play with the light and take the risk of some glare. If you have more expensive "anti-glare" lenses, it will be less of an issue than with a cheaper lens without the new anti-glare tech.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if the weather is unfavorable for an outdoor shoot?

If the forecast isn’t cooperating, we can either reschedule for a new date or move the session to an indoor or covered location. Sometimes a little cloud cover or even light drizzle can create beautiful, soft lighting, so we’ll make the most of what the day gives us. My priority is making sure you feel comfortable and confident, and that you end up with photos you’ll love no matter what.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose a professional photographer when phones have such good cameras?

This is a great question. Most people choose a professional for the quality of the image that is not directly captured by the camera. The poses, the lighting, the smiles and the relaxed nature of a shoot can all make or break family photos or an engagement shoot. We must also take into consideration the power of professional editing software that can literally move mountains and defy reality. All these things and more are what make that investment worth every penny.
